Are you looking to join your neighbors in the Treasure Valley for some fun Christmas Events? We've got all your events here in one place! We're highlighting Boise area Christmas Parades, Boise Christmas Tree Lightings, and other free Christmas events in Boise and the Treasure Valley for you to attend.
We'll be adding events as we find them or hear about them. To add your event, please email us: BoiseChristmasLights@gmail.com. Not all events will make our list, because we try to emphasize free events for families, and not necessarily feature every single convention, show, etc.

Scentsy Christmas Lights Ceremony, 6PM

You’re invited to join us at Scentsy Commons for a dazzling light display. Our sixth annual Christmas Lights Ceremony is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. We’ll officially turn on the lights with a countdown beginning at 6:15 p.m. The countdown will also be streamed live. Our campus has been wrapped in over 900,000 beautiful lights, including Scentsy’s signature light tunnel. And our 75-foot-tall, light-up Christmas tree!

Caldwell's Winter Wonderland Opening Weekend, 7 - 10PM

Every year, the City of Caldwell decorates Indian Creek in downtown Caldwell with over a million lights! Come join us in viewing the lights during opening weekend.
Winter Wonderland Festival is hosted by Destination Caldwell & Indian Creek Plaza and is completely free to attend - you can visit Santa, go ice skating, eat your favorite treat, or start your holiday shopping with a variety of vendors. We have everything you need to kick off the holidays right here in downtown Caldwell!
This year there will no official creek lighting ceremony and the celebration has been extended over three days in order to disperse crowds. The experience will be the same for you and your family regardless if you come to walk through Winter Wonderland on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The Winter Wonderland lights, ice skating, food trucks, vendors, and entertainment will be the same each night.

For 38 years now the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees has kicked off the holiday season in the Treasure Valley. The holiday season is a time for coming together to celebrate and revel in tradition. It is also a time for thinking of others and giving of ourselves. We are excited to bring back the magic of the Festival of Trees in 2022. Mark your calendars for November 22 (Gala), November 23-27 (General Exhibition) and November 28 (Fashion Show.) Let's celebrate!

Winter Garden aGlow at Idaho Botanical Gardens Begins

Winter Garden aGlow – the Garden’s biggest fundraiser of the year – is a magnificent display of lights and decorations arranged throughout the Garden at night. Join us this holiday season as the Garden is transformed into a twinkling wonderland. Create memories with the ones you love and experience over 600,000 lights hung artfully among our landscape.
This event offers our community an opportunity to come together and experience many holiday traditions all in one place. With timed ticketing and no more one-way path, the lines are shorter and you have more space to enjoy the event at your own pace!
Tickets are limited. So, get yours early before they sell out! One-hour timed ticketing blocks are available every thirty minutes.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.

2022 Downtown Boise Holiday Tree Lighting, 5PM

Celebrate the holidays in Downtown Boise with free, family friendly events! The season kicks off with a spectacular holiday tree lighting event the evening of Friday, November 25 in The Grove Plaza. Adorned with more than 5,000 lights and a custom-made tree topper, the 35-foot tree is Boise Cascade’s gift to our downtown. Throughout Downtown Boise is decorated with brightly lit wreaths, almost 350 streetlights wrapped with lights, and 12 intersections glittering with snowflake swags made possible by Downtown Boise Association.
The holiday tree is designated as the City’s ‘Giving Tree’ surrounded with over 4,000 gift tags supporting the families of Women’s and Children’s Alliance.

Canyon County Festival of Trees

The community is invited to check out trees, vendors and visit Santa (photos are $10) at the Canyon County Festival of Trees on Friday, November 25 from 12:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday, November 26 from 11:00am - 5:00pm. Tickets will be available at the door ($5 for adults, $3 for seniors -62 years of age and older, $3 for children 12 and younger and $20 for a family of up to 6 guests). A list of vendors and stage entertainment can be viewed at the website below.

Nampa Christmas Tree Lighting - 5:15pm

The City of Nampa invites the community to join us at our official Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 27. The entertainment begins at 5:15pm and "lights on" will be at 6pm. Santa Claus is rumored to be making an appearance as well!
Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting - 5:30pm

Governor Brad Little and First Lady Teresa Little invite everyone to join them on the evening of Monday, November 28, to celebrate the holiday season at the ceremonial lighting of Idaho’s Capitol Christmas Tree. The 25th Army Band will begin entertaining at 5:30 p.m. Santa Claus and his elf will also provide candy canes and bookmarks to attendees and be available for photos. The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. The lighting of the tree is expected sometime around 7 p.m. Guests are invited into the Capitol after the Christmas tree lighting until the festivities end at 7:30 p.m.

We are thrilled to usher in the holiday season with the Christmas in Meridian Winter Lights Parade Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 pm in downtown Meridian.
Come early to watch "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas' projected next to the mainstage at Idaho & Main streets. Grab dinner or a hot cocoa then enjoy the brightly lit floats stroll down main street. Santa will join us and help us light the Community Christmas Tree!
Santa will join us and bring his magic to help us light the city Christmas Tree that will shine throughout the season in Generations Plaza.

Ontario is known for its wonderful annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Parade—the largest Christmas Parade in our region. It is held on the first Saturday of December. Although the weather may be cold, the people of Ontario are warm and friendly. We invite you to join us to watch the wonderful Christmas Parade and enjoy the mix of local entries of floats, marching bands, dignitaries and, of course, the big guy himself, Santa Claus!

Celebrate Christmas with small-town charm and fun family festivities at Eagle Country Christmas on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 1-6 pm in downtown Eagle by Heritage Park. Enjoy free kids’ crafts and activities in our heated tents, take a photo with Santa and his sleigh, and ride a horse-drawn carriage through historic downtown Eagle. Listen to live musical performances from local children’s choirs and live bands at Heritage Park Gazebo Stage, pause for more photo ops throughout downtown, and shop for gifts and food at the holiday market. The Eagle Fire District's vintage 1927 fire truck will also be making an appearance so don't forget to check it out! For those interested, we will "Stuff the Truck" with needed coats, new socks, and new underwear donations for the Boise Rescue Mission (see below). And remember to stay till the grand finale- the Tree Lighting Ceremony! Witness as the living Christmas Tree in Heritage Park comes to life with hundreds of sparkling lights at 5:30 pm.
Treasure Valley Night Light Parade, 6PM

We are excited to announce the 19th Annual Treasure Valley Night Light Parade will be happening in Downtown Caldwell on Saturday, December 3rd, with a kick-off time of 6:00 PM! Our theme this year is, "Christmas at the Movies!" This theme invites creativity - not only could floats be themed like, "The Grinch," "It's A Wonderful Life," "Miracle on 34th St," and even "Die Hard," but our float entries can have themes like, "Jurassic Park," but put Christmas wreaths around the necks of the dinosaurs or "The Lorax," but make all the trees Christmas trees instead of truffula trees!

Come grab a hot chocolate with Mayor Evans as we light the Christmas trees just outside the Garden City Library! (trees are on the east side of city hall and the library) River Glen Junior High School Choir is performing acapella Christmas carols. The Library will have an ornament-making fair starting at 6:30pm! Important: RSVP to the Library at 208-472-2942 so there are enough supplies.

Come out and get into the holiday spirit! The Night Light Parade will be on Main Street. The parade starts at 6 PM sharp. After the parade, the City of Kuna will have their official lighting of the Kuna Christmas Tree at Kuna Market Village.
